Job overview
To support the Medical PA in providing a comprehensive administrative service to the medical teams within Cromwell House.
The Clinical Secretary will undertake general office duties, including typing medical correspondence, taking minutes of ward rounds, and managing calls from patients, carers, relatives, and health and social care professionals.
Main duties of the job
* Undertake audio/shorthand/clerical duties for consultants, including minute taking, clinical letters, reports, discharge correspondence, and clinical activity data inputting. Support related to consultant tutorials may also be required.
* Provide a first point of contact for written and telephone enquiries on behalf of your consultants, using judgment to determine validity and priority.
* Handle admission enquiries, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
Liaise with General Practitioners regarding clinic and domiciliary visits. Coordinate with outside agencies, including Social Services, Coroner’s Office, hospitals, and other medical services, using knowledge and judgment appropriate to each situation.

Shift details: Saturday (midnight to midnight), any weekday after 8pm and before 6am, all time on Sundays and public holidays.
Annual leave: 27 days plus bank holidays, increasing to 29 after 5 years and 33 after 10 years.
Person specification
* Minimum 1 year experience in administration
* GCSE Maths and English
* Previous experience in a clinical setting
* Experience with electronic systems
* Knowledge of IT systems
