About the Role
We are looking for a Day and Sleep Night Support Worker to join a dedicated double-up team supporting a young gentleman who has recently moved to the area.
He is sociable, intelligent, and has a fantastic sense of humour. He enjoys music, technology, attending theatre shows and concerts, spending time in the community, and going away on holidays. Family is incredibly important to him, and he values support from people who take the time to truly understand him and build positive, trusting relationships.
He lives with quadriplegic cerebral palsy, learning disabilities, a brain injury, and medication-controlled epilepsy, and at times may require reassurance and positive behavioural support when feeling distressed. This role is centred around providing thoughtful, person-centred support that enables him to live life on his own terms while feeling safe, valued, and empowered.
You'll be working as part of a consistent support team providing 24/7 care, helping to create stability, familiarity, and meaningful daily experiences.
What You'll Be Doing
* Providing compassionate, high-quality, person-centred care
* Supporting with daily routines, personal care, moving and handling, and medication
* Delivering specialist support, including epilepsy care and Maybo training (full training provided)
* Preparing meals and helping to maintain a comfortable, welcoming home environment
* Supporting social activities, hobbies, appointments, and community outings
* Building a trusted, respectful relationship while encouraging independence wherever possible
Working Pattern
* 15-hour day shifts (7am10pm)
* Sleep nights (10pm7am)
* Regular rolling rota, typically 12 day/sleep shifts followed by scheduled time off
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in Positive Behaviour Support (preferred)
* Warm, caring, and genuinely passionate about person-centred support
* Reliable, proactive, and attentive to individual needs
* A confident communicator who builds rapport naturally
* Comfortable supporting someone to access the community and enjoy social activities
* A holder of a full UK automatic driving licence (to drive the client's vehicle)
* Experienced in care (preferred), although a positive attitude and willingness to learn are just as important
What You'll Receive
* Up to £14 per hour
* £76 for sleep night shift
* Contracted hours possible for the right candidate (after 3 month probation)
