Taking your 1st steps towards becoming an experienced Workshop Technician? Let us help you train & develop to become an expert by working with our seasoned Technicians, who are looking for a Trainee Tooling Workshop Technician to join their team!

We're looking for a Trainee Tooling Workshop Technician (Hydraulic and Mechanical) to be based here in Aberdeen, aiding the Tooling Technicians in all tooling new build operations by learning and assisting in the smooth operation/maintenance of the Remote Intervention Tooling, supporting with the preparation of tooling for subsea operations, assisting in operating and maintaining tooling for offshore deployment, and collaborating the Tooling Technicians as required with all subsea intervention tasks.

You'll be working in close collaboration with and be mentored by the Senior Tooling Technician, who along with others, reports in to our highly skilled and knowledgeable Workshop Supervisor.

Our engineering team is tasked with supporting our regional operations with innovative solutions in support of Fugro’s and our Client’s subsea operations across oil & gas, renewables, and decommissioning projects.


Your role and responsibilities

Here's a brief outline of what you might be involved in day to day, though there may be other duties, responsibilities and expectations in addition to this list:

* To ensure that all work is undertaken to the highest quality and professionalism in accordance with the company Business Management System (BMS) and project specific documentation

* To ensure that all activities are carried out with the highest regard to the health and safety (HSE) of all involved and to the protection of the environment and prevention of pollution

* Adhere to all HSE & Quality Assurance (QA) procedures, work instructions, technical instructions and maintenance guidelines

* Learn how to complete documentation associated with equipment assembly, assessment and overhaul / repair.

* Train in the assembly and testing of subsea intervention tooling

* Train towards being able to carry out routine preventative maintenance, repair and preparation of subsea intervention tooling


What you’ll need to thrive in this role:

We're looking for a Trainee Tooling Workshop Technician to have some of the following experience

* General school education including English, Maths, and a Science subject

* Formal time served Modern Apprenticeship at a minimum SVQ level 3 or proven experience

* Experience within a mechanical workshop

* Basic mechanical competency and troubleshooting skills

* Understanding technical drawings and schematics to build and test equipment

* Basic experience with installation of hydraulic components and pipework.

* Experience with standard MS Office applications

* Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with people at all levels

* Self-motivated and committed to continual improvement
