Job summary Band 7 Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist with an interest in Cardio Respiratory, Surgery and Critical Care? We are looking for a dynamic Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist to work as part of the Critical Care and Surgery Therapy Team across these specialties, including amputee rehab, long term respiratory and cardiac conditions plus an opportunity to develop the emerging role of Occupational therapy on Critical Care, hence requiring a broad set of transferrable advanced skills as well as a desire to take the MDT on an exciting journey of discovery in the role of Occupational Therapy within this field. The successful candidate would work in conjunction with the Band 7 physiotherapists within the team supporting staff and service development, utilising local and national drivers and reporting to the lead Therapist. Healthcare is a 7 day service and therefore the expectation will be for you to support weekend working. Interviews for this role will be conducted in person to assess relevant skills effectively. Main duties of the job The role involves; Networking with Clinical specialists within other fields and throughout the NWA Trust to streamline and progress services. To work closely with the wider MDT on Critical Care to develop OT service provision in Critical Care, including early rehab, orientation and functional rehab. Assisting the MDT, including therapists with the rehabilitation, discharge planning or onward referrals of complex patients on the wards.
