Responsibilities
* You will be the go-to expert for chemical risk assessments, proactively identifying and evaluating workplace health hazards through inspections and sampling.
* You will analyse data against UK regulations, design effective control measures, and develop crucial training programs.
* Working across UK sites and representing the country on a transnational level, you will contribute to preventing work-related ill health.
How you will contribute to the team
* Take ownership of chemical safety: manage the full lifecycle of chemical risk, from assessing and approving new materials to clear hazard communication for our Filton and Broughton sites.
* Be the proactive Occupational Hygiene expert: identify, monitor, and evaluate potential health hazards, and develop solutions such as engineering controls and PPE.
* Ensure compliance: act as a key contact for UK health and safety legislation, ensuring practices meet or exceed standards set by the HSE.
About you
A BOHS qualification (or actively working towards it), or an equivalent qualification in chemical risk assessment.
Proven experience in conducting workplace risk assessments, particularly for chemical exposure, and implementing monitoring strategies within a UK context.
Proficiency with industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and software, with strong data analysis skills to interpret results against UK exposure limits.
A strong background in developing and implementing effective exposure control measures, including engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE.
