Are you an accomplished Senior Buyer or Procurement Lead ready for a new challenge? We're collaborating with a rapidly expanding, innovative eco-solutions provider in the North West. They're at the forefront of grant-funded, energy-efficient home improvements, helping to reduce household bills, lower carbon emissions, and combat fuel poverty across the UK. This is a superb opportunity to join a purpose-driven business and play a pivotal role in their continued success.
The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Procurement Lead to strengthen their dynamic team. You'll be instrumental in managing and optimising their entire procurement lifecycle, from strategic sourcing and meticulous supplier management to driving cost efficiencies and supporting key business initiatives, including pricing for bids and tenders within their Social Housing department. This role offers the chance to not only execute high-level procurement but also to mentor and guide a growing team, influencing strategic decisions within a forward-thinking, sustainability-focused environment.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Developing and implementing robust procurement strategies that align with company goals and project demands across various departments.
* Leading negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive terms, favourable rebates, and high-quality goods and services.
* Sourcing and assessing new suppliers, conducting thorough due diligence to ensure reliability and compliance.
* Managing the full purchase order process, from placement to expediting, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budgetary constraints and company policies.
* Building and nurturing strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors.
* Monitoring supplier performance and proactively resolving any discrepancies or issues that arise.
* Identifying and delivering significant cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or service standards.
* Producing accurate and timely reports on procurement activities, budget tracking, and performance metrics.
* Mentoring and providing support to other buyers and procurement team members, fostering a high-performance and cohesive team culture.
* Assisting with pricing strategies for bids and tenders, particularly for the Social Housing department.
What We're Looking For:
* Proven experience as a Senior Buyer or Procurement Lead, ideally within the construction or renewable energy sectors.
* A professional qualification in procurement and supply chain management (e.g., CIPS Level 4 Diploma or higher).
* Demonstrable expertise in construction materials, services, and supply chain management.
* Exceptional negotiation skills with a strong track record of achieving significant cost efficiencies and securing favourable terms.
* Highly organised with excellent time management and advanced analytical skills.
* Familiarity with CRM systems and proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building effective internal and external relationships.
* The ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
What Our Client Offers:
* A competitive salary dependent on your industry experience.
* A comprehensive company pension scheme.
* 23 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with an additional birthday holiday after 12 months of service.
* Regular company events and team-building activities.
* Free on-site parking and other benefits including a health & wellbeing programme and a referral scheme.
* A supportive and dynamic work environment within a company genuinely making a difference.
