As they continue successful growth, they are looking to hire a dynamic Accountant to join team owning the general ledger processes within the department.
Role
Reporting into the Senior Finance Manager & leadership teams, the Accountant will oversee daily accounting operations and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of the financial processes. They will own a number of key duties including:
* Lead day-to-day accounting operations and oversee a junior accountant.
* Ensure month-end processes run smoothly and deadlines are met.
* Manage multi-currency banking, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Oversee accurate transaction processing and resolve discrepancies.
* Take ownership of UK financial reporting and monthly reporting to the US parent company.
* Manage payroll, expenses and staff debit card controls.
* Act as system owner for Concur and drive process improvements.
* Maintain strong internal controls and support the annual audit.
* Contribute to ad hoc finance and operational projects.
Profile
The ideal profile for this Accountant position for this education and training firm based in south west London, should have the following attributes:
* 4+ years of experience within a similar hands-on general ledger accounting capacity.
* Strong ownership of multicurrency, intercompany and balance sheet reconciliations.
* Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or a qualified-by-experience Accountant
* Proficient with Excel and associated formulas (pivot tables/VLOOKUPs)
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Experience working within a high-volume environment would be advantageous
