Role Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Associate Operational Scientist to join our friendly and collaborative Scientific & Clinical Services team at Cambridge Cognition. In this role, you'll support the successful delivery of our digital cognitive assessment tools into clinical trials and research programmes. You'll work closely with a knowledgeable, multidisciplinary team who are passionate about improving cognitive health through innovative science and technology.
As a key part of the team, you’ll act as an internal expert on the use of our tools in real-world research settings, contributing to both the scientific integrity and operational success of our projects. You’ll interact with colleagues across the business and external partners around the globe, ensuring our solutions are implemented to the highest standards and meet the needs of our clients and collaborators.
What you’ll do
* Provide scientific consultancy and support, including:
* Providing support to pharmaceutical, biotech and academic clients regarding cognitive test selection and study design, alongside the Clinical Science team.
* Writing and reviewing study proposals and other client-facing science materials.
* Providing scientific input and review of internal study specification and other process / quality documents.
* Attend client Investigator Meetings, preparing training documents and materials, and give science presentations and training raters on CANTAB test administration.
* Providing scientific input and review on new product/ cognitive task development.
* Providing scientific support to other teams within the company (e.g. Product Management, Marketing, Customer Services etc.), where necessary.
* Provide support to statistical analysis activities, including:
* Analyse data to support client enquiries and new product development.
* Manage scientific review of study data as part of the Data Management process.
* Support the analysis and collection of internal data projects.
* Support the delivery of statistical consultancy activities, including:
* Review and QC statistical analysis code bases and outputs.
* Handle unblinding process for analysis and data report delivery.
* Maintain and improve scientific, analytical and product knowledge, ensuring a thorough understanding of the range of scientific products and services offered by Cambridge Cognition.
* Assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and processes ensuring efficient science/operations practice and communications across teams.
What we need from you:
* 2.1 or higher degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or related discipline.
* Basic knowledge of cognitive testing and its application in clinical and pharmacological research.
* Ability to explain scientific principles in a clear and concise manner.
* Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage priorities across multiple projects.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary, international team.
* Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues plus internal and external stakeholders.
* Attention to detail and accuracy.
Preferred:
* Knowledge of psychopharmacology and understanding of the principles of psychopharmacological design.
* Basic understanding of the general principles of psychometrics and statistical analysis.
* Experience in handling & interpreting data and working with databases.
* Some familiarity with statistical software (e.g., R, Python, SAS).
* Able to travel on occasions to conferences, Investigator meetings and visits to clients. Travel will likely include both UK and international up to 3 times per year.
