Job Title: Rights of Way Assistant
Within the Highways Directorate, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, customer-focused, and experienced person to join the service. The role involves assisting with the management of the public rights of way network across Derbyshire.
You will join a team of eager and ambitious technicians and engineers to ensure the successful delivery of the Council's duties as Highway Authority, providing a safe and reliable network for all users.
What will I be doing?
1. Investigating and resolving reported problems on public rights of way
2. Designing and implementing minor works for repair and maintenance of the network
3. Assisting with the processing of Public Path Orders
4. Maintaining the Definitive Map & Statement
5. Responding to enquiries from customers and service users
What skills and experience do I need?
* Familiarity with techniques and materials used in highway maintenance
* Knowledge of relevant highway and rights of way legislation
* Map reading skills
* Ability to keep accurate records
* Full driving licence
* Ability to walk long distances and negotiate rough terrain
