Oracle Site Reliability Engineer
Location: UK (Remote/ Hybrid/ Office)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Oracle Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of our critical Oracle-based applications and services supporting a global user base.
The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Oracle technologies and SRE methodologies. You will be responsible for ensuring the stability and efficiency of our Oracle systems, implementing automation, managing patching, and providing expert-level support to our global users. Strong cross-functional collaboration and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential for success in this role.
We will rely on you for the following:
* Manage and configure network systems and technologies to ensure robust and secure connectivity.
* Administer ORACLE Database, Weblogic, Forms, and Reports, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
* Oversee IIS Administration for maintaining secure and efficient web services.
* Deploy and configure MapServer to support our geospatial data needs.
* Work with SQL Server to manage and manipulate data effectively.
* Utilise SSIS and SSRS for data integration and reporting purposes.
* Provide operational system administration to maintain and troubleshoot IT systems.
* Leverage cloud platforms and automation tools to enhance scalability and efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with IT standards and regulations.
* Apply knowledge of SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) and/or DEVOPS practices to improve system reliability and performance.
* Maintain UK Security Clearance BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) as required by organisational policies
What You Bring to The Team:
* Bachelor’s Degree with 2-3 years of experience as a SRE (Oracle) Engineer.
* Advanced proficiency in Oracle (Administration, Weblogic, Forms, Reports).
* Intermediate proficiency in Windows Operating Systems (Server and client) for administration.
* Intermediate proficiency of IIS (Internet Information Services) and relational databases (Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server).
* Intermediate knowledge of networking (DNS, TCP/IP, FQDN, cluster environments) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.).
* Intermediate proficiency of Mapserver deployment and configuration
* Intermediate knowledge of SSIS and SSRS
* Intermediate knowledge of automation tools
* Understanding of SRE and DEVOPS methodologies
* Cloud certification (e.g., MS Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) is a plus.
* Knowledge of ITIL or certification would be an advantage.
* Effective collaboration with global colleagues
* Strong time management skills for task prioritisation and scheduling.
