Job Description
As Programme and Socio-Economic Analyst, you will play a key role in demonstrating the value and impact of UKAEA's programmes and investments. Working within the Executive Office, you will lead analytical projects that inform strategic decision-making, support future funding bids, and provide robust evidence of the economic and societal benefits generated by fusion research and innovation. This is a highly visible role, requiring close collaboration with senior leaders across UKAEA, government departments and external partners.

What You'll Be Doing
Lead the appraisal, evaluation and benefits realisation of major UKAEA programmes and investments.Design and deliver economic, quantitative and qualitative analysis to support business cases, value-for-money assessments and strategic decision-making.Develop methodologies and evidence frameworks to measure the socio-economic impact of fusion research and innovation.Implement and continuously improve UKAEA's monitoring and evaluation framework across programmes and projects.Commission and manage external research and evaluation activities to strengthen the organisational evidence base.Produce high-quality analytical reports, insights and recommendations for senior leaders, government stakeholders and funding bodies.Support future Spending Review submissions through robust analysis and evidence gathering.Embed analytical best practice across UKAEA, providing guidance and training aligned to HM Treasury Green Book and Magenta Book principles.Build strong relationships with internal technical experts and external stakeholders, including government departments, research councils and delivery partners.Line manage and develop junior analytical staff while contributing to the growth of analytical capability across the wider organisation.Qualifications
Degree in Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Social Science or another analytical discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience.Demonstrable experience delivering economic, statistical, social research or operational analysis, including contribution to business cases and value-for-money assessments.Strong knowledge of UK Government analytical frameworks, particularly HM Treasury Green Book, Magenta Book and Aqua Book principles.Experience designing, delivering and interpreting complex analysis to support strategic decisions and investment priorities.Experience leading analytical work programmes and managing stakeholders across multiple projects and competing priorities.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly to senior audiences.Additional Information
