Nurse Consultant (Cardiology) (Ref: 250277)
Full Time 36 hours per week
Band 8A – Salary Range £65,125 - £70,303 per annum
Distant Island Allowance £2,578 per annum
Relocation Assistance up to £8,000 available
We are seeking a motivated, highly experienced cardiology nurse to lead, influence and deliver cardiac services across NHS Shetland. The post is based in secondary care and out‑reaching to Primary Care.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the cardiac nursing team ensuring safe and effective evidence‑based, person‑centred care.
* Deliver heart failure nurse‑led clinics and cardiac rehabilitation services.
* Support the cardioversion service.
* Develop new ideas and drive professional development within the team.
Qualifications & Skills
* Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational and teaching skills.
* Evidence of professional development and advanced practice.
* Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team across all settings.
* Proven determination, drive and commitment to the role.
Support and Development
The post holder will receive full support from the Consultant Cardiologist (Locum) and Chief Nurse for Acute and Specialist Services and will have opportunities to develop and expand skills to an advanced level.
Requirements
Preferred candidates must join the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme or complete a PVG Scheme update prior to formal offer of employment.
