Teacher of Fine Art and Textiles - 0.5-0.8 FTE

Teach creative subjects in a focused sixth‑form environment with motivated students and strong professional support.
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Teacher of Fine Art and Textiles to join our vibrant and high‑achieving Art & Design department. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach on a 0.5-0.8 FTE basis within a thriving and dynamic department that places creativity, academic rigour, and student support at its core.
The role:
This role centres on planning and delivering engaging, innovative and high‑quality lessons in Fine Art and Textiles, enabling students to develop their creativity, technical skills and independent artistic voice.
The role includes:
1. Teaching A Level Fine Art and Textiles
2. Supporting student progress through effective assessment, feedback and academic guidance
3. Fostering a purposeful, inclusive and professional learning environment
4. Contributing to departmental planning, enrichment activities and curriculum development
5. Participating in ongoing CPD and collaborating with a team committed to continuous improvement
About you:
We welcome applications from creative, committed educators who are passionate about Art and Design and supporting young people. We are seeking an individual who:
6. Holds a relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE)
7. Has experience teaching Art and Design at A Level, with a strong understanding of Fine Art and Textiles
8. Has a proven ability to inspire students and deliver high‑quality teaching
9. Is confident using Adobe Creative Suite within teaching
10. Has knowledge of printmaking techniques (e.g. silk screen, intaglio and relief)
11. Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills and works well collaboratively
12. Is committed to inclusive, student‑centred learning
13. Brings creativity, adaptability and a growth mindset
How the role is structured:
Teaching at the college is organised to support subject delivery and consistent student experience.
14. No tutor group attached to the post
15. No routine lunch or break duties
16. Pastoral support led primarily by dedicated progress tutors
17. Student support sessions are timetabled
18. Collaborative planning and shared departmental practice
