Legal Secretary – Property Department Residential Property Focus | Training Provided | Supportive, Professional Team On behalf of our client, we are seeking an organised and proactive Legal Secretary to join their property department. This role will primarily support residential property matters, with occasional involvement in commercial property work. While previous legal secretarial experience is preferred, full training will be provided for the right candidate. About the Role This is a key support position, providing direct assistance to fee earners to help ensure the smooth and efficient running of their caseload. The successful candidate will be expected to work with a high level of accuracy, professionalism, and discretion. Key Responsibilities Include: Preparing legal documents and correspondence via audio-typing and word processing Managing and maintaining client files, including filing, archiving, and retrieval Handling incoming and outgoing mail, as well as photocopying and scanning Managing diaries, arranging appointments, and scheduling meetings Answering telephone calls and dealing with client enquiries in a professional manner Supporting other secretaries as needed and offering guidance to junior or temporary staff Maintaining confidentiality and a high standard of client care at all times Assisting with the firm’s banking and use of online banking systems The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Strong audio-typing skills and familiarity with legal document formatting A good typing speed (minimum 70 wpm) and excellent accuracy High attention to detail, particularly in spelling, punctuation, and grammar Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook Strong organisational and time-management skills A confident and friendly telephone manner The ability to work independently, use initiative, and prioritise competing tasks This is a great opportunity to join a respected and friendly firm where you’ll be supported to develop your skills and contribute to a busy and successful department.
