Overall Role Purpose
The WPS Data Analyst role sits within the Workplace Solutions Data, Analytics & Insight function and supports the delivery of high quality, analytical data products that enable effective management of M&G’s Workplace portfolio and services. Focusing on the goal of enabling data-based decision making across the department.
The role contributes directly to the delivery of the WPS Data and AI strategies, translating strategic direction into practical, scalable data, analytics and AI enabled solutions. The role operates at the intersection of change and delivery – advancing new ways of working, platforms and insight capabilities, while ensuring that existing data products continue to operate reliably, with appropriate quality, governance and control.
The role works laterally across the whole team, with senior leadership, other WPS Data Analysts, Technology and functional stakeholders to ensure workplace insight is trusted, well governed and actively used to inform decision making.
Success in the role will be demonstrated through the adoption of data that measurably improve decision quality, efficiency and outcomes across Workplace Solutions.
Key Accountabilities
1. Delivery of WPS Data and AI Strategies
1. Support the implementation of the WPS Data and AI strategies through the design and delivery of analytical products, use cases and data-driven solutions
2. Translate strategic objectives into tangible insight, automation and AI enabled capabilities that improve decision quality, efficiency and outcomes
3. Identify opportunities to apply analytics, automation and AI to Workplace data to create capacity and improve performance
2. Insight, Analytics and Decision Support
4. Design, build and maintain data products that provide clear, decision ready insight for operational and senior stakeholders
5. Develop repeatable analytical outputs supporting portfolio optimisation, service performance, utilisation and cost management
6. Contribute to the ongoing development of KPIs, measures and performance frameworks across Workplace Solutions
7. Ensure insight outputs are well structured, clearly communicated and aligned to decision needs
8. Drive evidence‑based decision making across Workplace Solutions by supporting requirements gathering, user training and adoption through the development and co‑creation of data and insight products
3. Enterprise Data Platforms and Engineering
9. Support the migration and optimisation of Workplace data onto centralised, enterprise grade data platforms
10. Work in partnership with Technology and system owners to improve data pipelines, models, integrations and backend data structures
11. Own analytical delivery from data ingestion and transformation through to modelling, insight generation and consumption
4. Automation and AI Enabled Solutions
12. Design and deliver automation and AI ready solutions that improve speed, consistency and scalability of reporting and analysis
13. Support experimentation and iteration of new analytical and AI ready capabilities, ensuring appropriate controls are applied
14. Industrialise new solutions so they can be sustained as part of standard operations
5. Operational Stability, Governance and Quality
15. Ensure existing Workplace data products, dashboards and reporting operate accurately, reliably and on time
16. Maintain appropriate documentation, data ownership, controls and auditability across analytical products
17. Monitor data quality and resolve issues in collaboration with Technology and system owners
18. Apply a disciplined approach to quality and control as new capabilities transition into BAU operation
6. Collaboration and Capability Development
19. Work closely with other WPS Data Analysts to ensure consistent standards, tooling and analytical approaches
20. Collaborate with colleagues across Workplace Solutions, Finance, HR and Technology to embed data and AI led ways of working
21. Support capability uplift across WPS through effective use of dashboards, insight and analytical products
22. Contribute positively to the development of a strong, credible and collaborative analytics community
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
23. Experience working in a data, analytics or insight role within a large, complex organisation in a cross functional capacity
24. Strong hands-on capability across different roles that include data analysis, data engineering and analytical product delivery
25. Strong experience with TSQL, Pyspark or similar capabilities for data extraction, transformation, data modelling and analysis
26. Strong experience using Microsoft Power Platform: Power BI, Power Query, Power Apps, Power Automate and Databricks
27. Experience in delivering new ideas and processes, using technical expertise to make progress towards departmental delivery
28. Experience delivering change through data, analytics or AI, alongside maintaining operational reliability
29. Ability to translate complex data and analytical concepts into clear, decision ready insight for nontechnical stakeholders
30. Strong attention to detail with a disciplined approach to data quality, governance and control
Desirable
31. Experience supporting or delivering data and AI strategies
32. Experience working with enterprise data platforms and modern data architectures
33. Familiarity with workplace, property, facilities management or corporate operations data
34. Experience using APIs to extract and model data
35. Experience in app development
