About the Role
We are seeking experienced and safety-focused Shaft Sinking Miners to join our team. This role involves working in demanding underground environments, contributing to the development and deepening of mine shafts. Candidates must be reliable, physically fit, and committed to maintaining the highest safety standards at all times.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out shaft sinking activities including drilling, blasting, mucking, and ground support installation
* Operate and maintain underground mining equipment safely and efficiently
* Follow all site safety procedures and risk assessments
* Work effectively as part of a team in confined and hazardous environments
* Conduct routine inspections and report any hazards or equipment issues
* Assist with shaft lining and infrastructure installation as required
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience in shaft sinking or underground mining
* Valid Confined Spaces Certification (mandatory)
* Current Self-Rescuer / Self-Rescue Certification (mandatory)
* Strong understanding of underground safety procedures and regulations
* Physically fit and capable of working in demanding conditions
* Ability to work shifts, including nights and extended hours
Desirable Skills
* First Aid Certification
* Working at Heights Certification
* Experience with shaft sinking equipment and systems
