The role sits within the Community Development team. About you A degree or equivalent qualification in Community Development, Social Sciences or a similar field. At least 2 years' experience in a community development role (paid or voluntary), preferably within a public sector or community/voluntary sector environment. Experience of partnership working with external stakeholders including statutory bodies, voluntary organisations, and community groups. Experience in assisting groups with funding applications or accessing grant aid. Experience of preparing reports, briefing documents or evaluations. A sound understanding of community development principles and practice. Knowledge of local government structures, policy frameworks, and the role of councils in community planning. What you'll do Deliver community development support to the community / voluntary sector to build capacity and infrastructure in accordance with the targets, outputs and outcomes of the organisation's Community Development strategy. Contribute and assist with the development & implementation of relevant community development strategies and policies. Develop and maintain relationships with local community / voluntary groups and encourage and support opportunities for collaborative working within and between communities. Work across the Community Development & Resources team to deliver joined initiatives that contribute to Community Development, Good Relations and Facilities development. Ensure the provision of high standards of customer care across the Community Development service and promote the service effectively and communicate in a way, which enhances and promotes the public image and overall reputation of the organisation. Develop and enhance working relationships with relevant partners and stakeholders to maximise corporate and community planning outcomes and to generate innovation in service delivery.
