Job description
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Stores Person to support and coordinate the daily operations of their warehouse. This is a hands-on role, working closely with a small team to ensure the efficient and accurate handling of goods, inventory management, and stock record maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and manage day-to-day warehouse operations and team performance
* Allocate tasks to warehouse staff and monitor workloads
* Troubleshoot and resolve process flow issues as they arise
* Train new and existing team members
* Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new warehouse employees
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement efficiency initiatives
* Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock checks
* Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth workflow
* Inspect warehouse vehicles, machinery, and equipment (e.g., forklifts, storage racks)
* Maintain documentation for vehicles and equipment
* Oversee scheduled maintenance and handle unplanned repairs of equipment
* Organise and supervise stocktaking activities
Candidate Requirements:
* Previous experience in a regulated stores or logistics environment
* Strong IT skills, with the ability to maintain digital stock records
* Counterbalance Forklift License (preferred)
Contract Details:
* Temporary-to-permanent opportunity
* Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (37.5 hours/week)
* Pay: Approximately £15.38 per hour (depending on experience)
