Taylor Woodrow is recruiting foran Environmental Advisor to join their team delivering the civils work for a275kV sub station near Sunderland. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and the Head of Environment, theEnvironmental Advisor will be responsible for overseeing all environmentalactivities across the project. Worksinclude the delivery of roads, drainage, piling, concrete structures andearthworks.
Duties:
· Maintainsystems to review and monitor compliance with BS EN ISO 14001 and othercompany/divisional standards
· Manage andoversee monitoring equipment, collect, process and interpret data (e.g. water, dust,noise, waste)
· Carry out environmental site inspections, highlighting any good and bad practice to therelevant teams and senior management
· Ensure thatthe Project Environmental Management System is operating accurately on sitethrough a program of checking and auditing
· Record andreport all incidents to all relevant parties and instigate any correctiveactions required
· Preparemonthly environmental reports for the project, including completion ofcompany/client and divisional reporting systems data systems
· Regularlyreport progress (including achievements) against environmental compliance, andenvironmental targets to the whole team
· Developrobust and comprehensive mitigation measures to deal with environmental risks,working collaboratively with the production team
· Produce,review and update the Project Environmental Management Plan (andassociated plans) on a regular basis
· Develop andmaintain relationships with key stakeholders including client representatives toensure collaborative working relationships
Person Specification:
· Previous experience gained as an Environmental Advisor within the construction industry
· Knowledge of construction methods,trades, plant, equipment, and practices, and, in particular the environmentalimpact associated with each
· Previous site experience is desirable
· Awareness of all current and futureenvironmental legislation and a working knowledge of applicable health andsafety legislation is essential
