Think Accountancy and Finance are recruiting a Management Accountant to join a growing UK finance team based in Watford. Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with the UK Finance Director, this is a broad, hands-on accounting role with responsibility across core management accounting, balance sheet ownership and operational finance.
This role could suit two distinct candidates - someone Qualified who enjoys clear structure, ownership and consistency, and is happy being a dependable pair of hands in a busy finance function. Alternatively, it would also suit a part-qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) who is a few exams from qualifying and wants strong all-round experience rather than a fast-track progression role.
Key responsibilities
You'll have responsibility for a wide range of accounting activities, including:
Ownership of revenue recognition
Preparation and review of P&Ls and monthly revenue reporting
Balance sheet reconciliations
Maintenance of the fixed asset register and capex reporting
Intercompany accounting and UK intercompany reporting
Corporate overhead accounting and forecasting
Supporting FP&A activity with operational teams
Preparation of information for statutory accounts and support during external audit
Ad hoc finance tasks as required in a growing businessThis is a varied role covering both management and financial accounting, with regular interaction across finance and the wider business.
About you
This role will suit someone who is:
Part-qualified (Finalist) or qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
Comfortable working in a busy, operational finance environment
Methodical, organised and reliable
Confident owning processes end-to-end
Happy being office-based and part of a close-knit finance teamYou don't need to be highly "progressive" or chasing rapid promotion, consistency, accuracy and a solid technical grounding are far more important here.
