<div><p>We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Qualified Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) to join the East Cambs Mental Health Support Team (MHST) based in Ely. The role involves delivering evidence‑based early interventions to parents and young people across educational settings and healthcare sectors, working collaboratively with schools, colleges and health professionals.</p><h3>Job Overview</h3><p>This autonomous practitioner role requires you to travel around the area to allocated schools. It involves assessing, delivering and evaluating interventions for children, young people, parents and carers with mild to moderate mental health difficulties, coordinating with local services for higher level needs, and maintaining clear professional records.</p><p>Probationary period: 6 months.</p><h3>Job Duties & Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Conduct holistic, child‑centred mental health assessments and risk formulations.</li><li>Develop and deliver evidence‑based interventions (e.g., CBT, solution‑focused therapy) in educational and community settings.</li><li>Provide guided self‑help resources and support children and families in self‑management of presenting difficulties.</li><li>Collaborate with schools to identify and manage mental health issues, supporting staff in mental health awareness and whole‑school approaches.</li><li>Accept referrals according to local and national protocols, and signpost more complex cases to appropriate specialist services.</li><li>Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records, complete data collection, and use audit data for service improvement.</li><li>Attend multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency meetings, present case information, and contribute to clinical governance.</li><li>Participate in supervision, safeguarding audits, and emergency preparedness processes.</li><li>Adhere to infection control, information governance, and trust risk‑management policies.</li></ul><h3>Person Specification</h3><h3>Qualifications & Training</h3><ul><li>Successful completion of the EMHP Training Course (Post‑Graduate Certificate/Diploma) and registration with the BPS or BABCP (or in process of registering).</li><li>Teaching qualification.</li></ul><h3>Experience</h3><ul><li>Experience working with children, young people and families.</li><li>Experience liaising with schools and a variety of agencies.</li><li>Experience with social, emotional, behavioural and anxiety disorders.</li><li>Experience delivering therapeutic interventions such as CBT or solution‑focused brief therapy.</li><li>Experience in a health‑care setting and monitoring of outcome measures.</li><li>Experience navigating complex social systems and working with vulnerable groups.</li></ul><h3>Knowledge & Skills</h3><ul><li>Ability to conduct 1:1 therapeutic assessments and interventions with children and families.</li><li>Ability to run group parenting programmes.</li><li>Capacity to work within educational settings to raise mental health awareness among staff.</li><li>Skill in risk assessment, recording, communication and mitigation of risks.</li></ul><p><b>Equal Opportunities</b>– We are an equal‑opportunities employer and welcome all applications irrespective of age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race or religion.
