Job Title: Youth Support Worker (Children’s Residential Care) Location: Newark-on-Trent area of Nottinghamshire Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: £31,259 per annum (Inclusive of £1,400 Attendance Bonus paid quarterly) Additional Payments: • Sleep-ins paid at £46.01 per sleep-in • Two sleep-ins per week required About the Role We are seeking compassionate, resilient, and dedicated Youth Support Workers to join our Children's Residential Care team. Working within a trauma-informed residential setting, you will support young people with their emotional, social, educational, and day-to-day needs while helping them build confidence, resilience, and independence. Key Responsibilities • Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting. • Build positive, trusting, and professional relationships with young people. • Support young people with daily routines, education, appointments, and recreational activities. • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence. • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation. • Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, social workers, and other professionals. • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times. • Support the implementation of care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies. • Participate in team meetings, training, and supervision sessions. • Contribute to creating a safe, stable, and nurturing home environment. Essential Requirements • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Mandatory. • Full UK Driving Licence. • Full Right to Work in the UK with no restrictions or expiry. • Experience working with children and young people in a residential, care, education, or support setting. • Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently. • Flexible approach to working shifts, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
