Production / Assembly Technician
Driver Hire Winchester is currently recruiting for a Production / Assembly Technician on behalf of our client based in Winchester. Our client specialises in the manufacture of high-quality lighting systems, and this role would suit a technically skilled individual with experience in soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly who thrives in a fast‑paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out soldering and wiring to a high standard.
* Complete basic mechanical assembly, including drilling and cutting aluminium.
* Read and interpret technical drawings.
* Perform cable wiring, crimping, and soldering tasks.
* Test products and carry out production inspections.
* Work to tight deadlines while maintaining excellent quality standards.
* Communicate effectively with team members.
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum of 2 years' hand soldering experience (essential).
* At least 2 years' professional assembly experience.
* Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
* Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
* Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to work under pressure.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
The Package
* Competitive salary of £28,000 - £30,000 (depending on experience).
* 20 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays.
