Location – Leicester, UK with hybrid work option Company: Guidance Marine design and manufacture a range of position reference sensors for the marine industry. Purpose of the role: Due to recent growth Guidance Marine are seeking an experienced Buyer to develop and support comprehensive procurement strategies that are aligned with organisational goals. This role will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating terms, and securing advantageous agreements. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will be office based in our Leicester offices and offers a hybrid working model of three days on site, two days working from home. What are your main tasks and responsibilities? Execute purchase orders, order monitoring, confirmations and rescheduling Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify new sourcing opportunities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand procurement needs and specifications. Manage supplier relationships to ensure quality, delivery, and compliance. Conduct cost analysis and budgeting to achieve financial objectives. Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement regulations. Continuously evaluate supplier performance and implement improvement initiatives. Maintains accurate supplier data and procurement records for analysis and reporting. Utilises data and analytics to inform sourcing decisions and to optimize the supply chain. Analyses supplier performance data to monitor outcomes and identify areas for improvement. What do we expect from you? BSc degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field, or proven experience in strategic sourcing and procurement. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrate strong self-motivation, effectively managing individual responsibilities and contributing to team objectives. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
