Specialising in both the distribution and manufacture of a number of chemical products and offering an impressive wide range of chemical manufacturing capabilities on behalf of its customer base.
We are currently recruiting for a QC Analyst to join their technical team based in Bury. This role will be a Quality Control bias position however, will also support the R&D Team as and when required. A varied role working on a number of exciting projects as well as working closely with Production Teams on Quality Control.
You will ensure that all finished goods, raw materials, and bought-in products meet the required performance and quality standards. This role involves rigorous testing in accordance with applicable EN standards, maintaining meticulous records—both manually and digitally—and collaborating with various departments to uphold company’s commitment to excellence.
Responsibilities
Quality Testing & Inspection:
* Conduct tests on finished goods, raw materials, and bought-in items to verify they meet product performance requirements.
* Perform detailed inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure adherence to established quality standards and specifications.
* Utilise a range of equipment (e.g. pH metres, viscometers, SG cups) to perform routine quality control tests and measurements.
Documentation:
* Accurately document and record all test results and quality control activities promptly, utilising both paper-based and digital systems.
* Maintain and update digital records and databases to ensure data integrity and ease of access.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
* Work closely with production teams and managers to address quality-related issues and implement effective solutions.
* Contribute to developing and revising quality control procedures, protocols, and work instructions to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
* Assist in investigating customer complaints and quality incidents, supporting root cause analysis and resolution efforts.
Equipment Maintenance:
* Ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of laboratories and equipment, adhering strictly to safety guidelines and best practices.
* Oversee the maintenance of QC testing equipment, ensuring all calibrations and certificates are current.
* Manage and update digital logs and calibration records, ensuring secure and compliant data storage.
* Support internal and external quality audits and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance with quality management standards and regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate
This role will suit an individual who has a Scientific education i.e. Chemistry Degree, who is either looking for their first role within a lab/manufacturing environment or someone who has some previous experience within QC looking for a new challenge and a chance to get involved in R&D Projects.

In return our client is offering a £30,000 - £35,000pa basic salary, bonus and benefits package. (TBD)
