Job Description Job Title: Claims Technician Salary: £45,000 Location: London PURPOSE OF ROLE At Lawes, we are currently working for a fast-growing Lloyd's Broker who are seeking a Claims Technician to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team. The role will provide technical claims support across multinational accounts, with a particular focus on US casualty Claims. The successful candidate will ensure claims are valid, processed, and paid within agreed timescales, while delivering a high-quality, value-added claims service to clients. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage and coordinate a portfolio of US casualty binder claims including Professional Liability, General Liability, E&O, EPL, Property, Crisis Management, and other specialty liability classes. Review claims information, coverage positions, and carrier responses to provide clear, commercially focused advice to clients. Oversee claim progression from notification to settlement. Act as a claims advocate, negotiating with insurers, TPAs, adjusters, and legal representatives to support favourable outcomes. Utilise CLASS and ECF to efficiently submit, track, and agree claims within the Lloyd’s and company markets. Provide claims support across financial lines (D&O, E&O, FI, PI) and property, including CAT and technical industrial risks for direct and reinsurance placements. Work closely with global stakeholders, ensuring document standards and regulatory requirements are met in all regions. Maintain accurate claims records and data across internal systems in accordance with Lloyd’s and market requirements. Participate in client reviews, renewal preparation, underwriter meetings, and broker discussions. DAY-TO-DAY Managing an active portfolio of international claims files. Communicating with clients, TPAs, coverholders, and insurers. Submitting and monitoring claims through CLASS/ECF. Maintaining accurate claims data and documentation. Supporting brokers and account managers with technical claims insights. Preparing materials for client meetings and renewals. Maintain and process Claims Bordereaux SKILLS Previous experience handling casualty claims Strong London Market Claims knowledge Knowledge of property and financial lines (advantageous but not essential). Strong understanding of London systems such as ECF and IMR. Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage expectations effectively. Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise workloads. Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills; familiarity with Eclipse is a plus.
