Travel Nurse Job Details Location: Midlothian, VA 23114 (Richmond area)
Healthcare Setting: Med/Surg Ortho (4th Floor); must be willing to float to other Med/Surg Tele (Oncology) units
Assignment Type: Travel RN contract
Start Date: November 3, 2025
End Date: January 31, 2026
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary: $1780 - $1910
Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics (18+), specializing in orthopedic and spine cases
Unit Size: 36 beds/bays
Scrub Colors: Navy/White
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and major holidays required
Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license in Virginia or compact state (required)
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg RN experience (required)
Orthopedic nursing experience (required)
BLS certification (required)
Must pass dysrhythmia exam (study guide provided)
Travel nursing experience not required
Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
Ability to float to other Med/Surg Tele units as needed
Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
Safely administer medications in accordance with hospital policies
Coordinate patient care and serve as the primary contact for patients and families
Educate and support patients throughout the healthcare continuum
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive care
Float to other Med/Surg Tele units as required
Manage admissions and discharges during night shifts
Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety and privacy standards
Respond effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions and emergencies
Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and strong communication skills
