Job Summary
This consultant post supports the ENT team with both surgical and clinical work following the surge of clinical activity and helps reduce the backlog created by the Covid-19 pandemic. Work will be based at both the Royal Stoke Hospital and the County Hospital. The role requires an enthusiastic ENT surgeon capable of managing all aspects of ENT and Head and Neck Surgery.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing all aspects of ENT and Head and Neck Surgery including routine new referrals, follow‑up appointments and general ENT operating lists. Provide support with specific surgical skills in ENT Rhinology and Skull Base surgery. Participate in the on‑call rota for the department (weekday 1:9 frequency, weekend 1:14 frequency, shared with Mid Cheshire NHS Trust) and help address waiting‑list backlogs.
Qualifications
* Full GMC Registration
* Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry via CCT within 6 months of interview or CESR
Desirable Qualifications
* Other higher degree (PhD, Masters, BSc)
Experience
* Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining (UK) CCT in ENT
* Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of problems (both emergency and elective) within the specialty
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
Desirable Experience
* Postgraduate qualifications in medical education (e.g. MSc, PhD)
* Experience of undergraduate teaching and supervision
* Experience of clinical supervision and mentorship
Salary
£109,725 to £145,478 per annum
