We’re expanding our team in 2025 and beyond. We seek engineers eager to innovate and address industry and societal challenges through fabrication and welding projects within AMIC’s advanced manufacturing activities. You will leverage your expertise in methods, processes, and process validation to produce research outputs with economic and technical benefits. Collaboration with industry, technology providers, national centres, and academia will be key to delivering our projects.
About the person:
To be shortlisted, candidates must demonstrate they meet the following criteria:
* Higher National Diploma/Certificate in a relevant engineering discipline with significant recent industrial experience.
* Deep understanding and recent experience of automated manufacturing processes.
* Knowledge and experience of industrial welding and fabrication processes.
* Familiarity with robotic welding processes.
* Experience using 3D CAD tools for designing automated systems.
* Knowledge of jig and fixture design for fabrication support.
* Understanding of safety systems in automated solutions.
* Proven ability to work within complex environments, meeting deadlines and budgets.
* Experience with research/industrial tools leading to high-quality projects and reports.
* Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of developing innovative solutions.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical information clearly.

This is a three-year fixed-term position. Fixed-term contracts are initially for the stated period but may be renewed or made permanent based on funding availability.
