Offer description

We’re Kingfisher, a team made up of over 74,000 passionate people who bring Kingfisher and all our other brands: B&Q, Screwfix, Brico Depot, Castorama and Koctasto life. Guided by our purpose Better Homes. Better Lives. For Everyone. We believe a better world starts with better homes, and we work every day to make that a reality. Join us and help shape the future of home improvement.

We are looking for a Modern Desktop Product Designer to join our Infrastructure Operations team, to design and deliver modern desktop services (in particular Windows 11, Intune and Autopilot) that enable colleagues across Kingfisher to work simply, securely and effectively. Working within End User Services, this role shapes high‑quality, evergreen services that support Kingfisher’s technology strategy and create consistent experiences across all banners.

We can base this role out of either our Paddington or Southampton offices, with an expectation of 12 days a month in the office and travel between sites as required.

Responsibilities

* Design and deliver new modern desktop services in line with Infrastructure and End User Services objectives, balancing requirements, cost and risk.
* Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical leadership and governance across projects, business‑as‑usual activity and service improvement programmes.
* Create and peer‑review infrastructure and service designs, identifying opportunities for standardisation, simplification and shared platforms.
* Collaborate with designers, architects, product owners and delivery partners to ensure consistency across programmes and locations.
* Advise stakeholders on solution feasibility, risks and options, supporting informed decision‑making and initiative development.
* Manage delivery activity using structured planning and tracking, including EPICs and stories, to achieve agreed outcomes.
* Champion modern desktop services within the IT community, sharing knowledge and promoting best practice across the organisation.

Qualifications

* Proven experience designing and delivering technical services within a complex, enterprise‑scale environment.
* Strong background in senior technical support or service design roles, with recognised subject matter expertise in relevant product areas (Intune, Autopilot, Windows 11).
* Experience working with third‑party providers and managed service partners to deliver technology solutions.
* A feedback‑driven approach to service design and continuous improvement.
* Clear, inclusive communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
