HV Cable Engineer (Civil)

Salary: up to £60,000 (+ benefits)

Turner Lovell is currently recruiting for a leading utility infrastructure contractor in their search for a HV Cable Engineer (Civil). You will work on a DNO framework where there are a number of new substations and electricity infrastructure that needs to be developed.
This role offers the opportunity to support the delivery of critical HV cable infrastructure from early-stage planning and design through to on-site oversight of civil engineering activities. You will work closely with designers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure construction is carried out safely, on time, and in line with project quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning and delivery of civil works associated with high-voltage cable infrastructure, including trenching, ducting, and joint bay construction.
Collaborate with design teams to develop practical civil engineering solutions that meet technical specifications and project goals.
Monitor on-site activities to ensure compliance with safety standards, engineering designs, and project schedules.
Assist in preparing construction documentation, including risk assessments, work packages, and handover reports.
Support tendering and procurement processes by providing technical input on civil scope requirements.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
Background in civil engineering delivery within large-scale infrastructure or energy-related projects.
Good working knowledge of CDM regulations and UK construction standards.
Able to review and apply civil and technical drawings in a project setting.
Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar tools.
Working towards professional accreditation such as ICE (preferred but not mandatory)
