Job Title : Design Engineer
Location : Dudley Borough
Pay Rate : £35k - £40k
Shift Time: 08:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established window manufacturer who is looking for an experienced Design Engineer / CAD Designer to join their growing technical team.
This is a great opportunity to work with a respected company delivering aluminium windows, curtain walling, and commercial door systems across a range of construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings using AutoCAD
Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and design briefs
Prepare layouts, elevations, sections, and construction details
Revise drawings based on feedback from architects and project teams
Maintain drawing registers and document control
Liaise with internal teams, architects, and contractors to ensure accurate project delivery
Assist with technical submissions, breakdown schedules, and system detailing
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a CAD Technician / Draftsman within construction
Strong AutoCAD skills (essential)
Experience with aluminium glazing, curtain walling, windows, or façade systems
Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet project deadlines
