Area Sales Manager Permanent Southeast £37,500 - £50,000 commission and company car My client is an established and ever-growing UK business within the architectural / construction products sector, is looking to appoint an experienced Area Sales Manager to cover the Southeast region. This is a field-based role focused on developing and growing relationships across a diverse customer base, including metal fabricators, installers, merchants, glaziers and builders, while also working closely with the specification side of the business to ensure full market coverage of a premium product range. Purpose of the Job As the Area Sales Manager, you will take full ownership of your territory, driving sales growth through proactive business development, relationship management, and effective use of internal support functions. You'll be trusted to manage your own diary, identify new opportunities, follow up inbound leads, and represent the brand professionally across your region. Key Responsibilities Manage your own time to maximise time spent face to face with potential and existing customers and "influencers" including installers, main and sub-contractors and builders Maintain detailed diary of appointments and plans Provide regular brief written reports on significant developments, good or bad Generate, by proactive efforts opportunities to increase sales Follow up sales leads provided by others Raise quotations against enquiries generated and received - operating always within set guidelines on margins and discounts. Self-generate leads and opportunities to ensure full working days Provide information on new customers, updating the appropriate corporate software Contribute to centrally held databases for, importantly, metalworkers and metal merchants Use promotional materials, catalogues and literature to back up discussions Attend relevant trade fairs to identify market trends, competing products and opportunities Man company stand and displays at selected trade fairs and exhibitions Assist and guide Sales Consultants in making offers and quotations to incoming callers. Make yourself available for meetings as arranged by National Sales Manager or others. Desirable skills / Experience Proven experience in field sales / area sales, ideally within construction, building products, metalwork, glazing, or a related sector Confident relationship builder with a consultative sales approach Strong time management skills and the ability to self-generate leads Commercially aware, with experience negotiating pricing and margins Comfortable working autonomously while contributing to a wider sales team Professional, organised, and results-driven What is in it for you?
