Role: Learning Support Assistant – x4 vacancies
Location: Tresham College – Kettering and Corby Campuses
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £23,557 and £25,849 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, People’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: Various hours – 37 weeks a year
Contract Type: Permanent – Term Time
About The Role
We are currently seeking 4 Learning Support Assistants to join our Additional Support department at The Bedford College Group.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
* Learner Support & Inclusion - Provide one-to-one and group support for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities, enabling access to the curriculum and promoting independence in college and the wider community.
* Curriculum & Classroom Support - Assist with lesson delivery, maintain learning environments, support ILP development, and help tutors with administrative tasks and in-class cover when needed.
* Personal & Physical Care - Deliver personal care, administer medication (with training), and provide physical support to students as required, ensuring dignity and safety at all times.
* Collaboration & Communication - Attend meetings, maintain accurate records, liaise with staff to meet learner needs, and contribute to college events such as open days and inductions.
* Safeguarding & Compliance - Uphold safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and data protection standards, while actively engaging in training and development aligned with college policies.
About You
* Qualifications & Knowledge - Holds or is working towards a Level 2 Learner Support Certificate, with Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, and a working understanding of post-16 learner support.
* Experience & Skills - Experienced in supporting students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities in educational or care settings, with strong IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office.
* Communication & Teamwork - Communicates effectively in person, writing, and by phone; works well independently and as part of a team, respecting others’ expertise and contributing positively to a supportive environment.
* Adaptability & Care - Demonstrates flexibility, a positive attitude, and the ability to support learners’ mobility and personal care needs, while maintaining accurate records and managing sensitive data confidentially.
* Commitment & Safeguarding - Committed to safeguarding, equality, and the values of The Bedford College Group, with a clear understanding of professional boundaries and willingness to work across sites and varied hours.
