Teacher of Engineering
Full Time | September 2026 Start | Middlesbrough
A forward-thinking secondary school/college in Middlesbrough is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Engineering Teacher to join their department from September on a full-time basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to teach across modern vocational and technical pathways, delivering both T Level Engineering and the Single AAQ Engineering qualification to motivated post-16 learners preparing for careers in the engineering sector.
The successful candidate will be passionate about technical education and able to deliver engaging, industry-relevant lessons that develop students’ practical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and understanding of real-world engineering applications.
The Role
* Deliver high-quality teaching across T Level Engineering and AAQ Engineering programmes
* Plan and assess engaging lessons that support learner progress and achievement
* Support students in developing technical, analytical, and employability skills
* Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment opportunities
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour, attendance, and academic performance
* Work collaboratively within a supportive Engineering and STEM team
The Ideal Candidate
* Holds QTS/QTLS or relevant teaching qualification
* Has experience teaching Engineering at KS4 and/or Post-16 level
* Strong subject knowledge across Engineering principles and applied technical learning
* Confident delivering vocational and technical qualifications
* Industry experience or exposure within Engineering is advantageous
* Passionate about preparing students for further study, apprenticeships, and industry careers
* Strong classroom management and organisational skills

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
