On behalf of our client, we are seeking to recruit a Quality Lineside Engineer on an initial 12‑month contract. As the Quality Lineside Engineer, you will be supporting the evaluation, coordination and monitoring of achieved levels of conformity in the product, process and services provided by the Business.
Role Details
* Title: Quality Lineside Engineer (Nights)
* Pay: £32.96 per hour via Umbrella + shift allowance
* Location: Broughton
* Contract: Monday – Thursday 20:45–06:00, 35 hours per week, 12‑month contract
* IR35 Status: Inside
* Security Clearance: BPSS
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist quality support and advice on drawings, parts, processes, and support services; independently assure that quality requirements have been met.
* Ensure the quality system is adhered to within the business through surveillance activities.
* Define and apply certification processes consistently within the business.
* Coordinate and lead reported quality/technical issues from business teams and customers, ensuring appropriate corrective and preventive action is taken and the originator is informed.
* Perform initial investigations (e.g., Events, QLBs, NCs) to assess probable root cause, informing the accountable function and ensuring corrective and preventive action (ambition within one shift). Provide problem‑solving analysis through multifunctional team activities.
* Conduct investigations to assess the probable root cause of any deficiency noted during process confirmation activities, informing the accountable function and ensuring corrective and preventive action is taken.
* Compile and present quality overview to the leadership team within the business area.
Requirements
* Ability to interpret drawings.
* Problem‑solving skills and use of associated tools (PPS, 5‑Why, Ishikawa, etc).
* Good interpersonal skills – able to challenge appropriately while maintaining strong relationships.
* Data analysis skills – interpret data sets, graphical data and draw conclusions.
* Work well as part of an integrated team alongside operational and cross‑functional team members.
* Quality or engineering background (desirable) within a major manufacturing industry.
