Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Overview:
Our client is seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their Engineering team based primarily in Rochdale. The successful candidate will support production through routine maintenance, fault finding, and mechanical repairs, ensuring equipment reliability and compliance with ISO and customer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular servicing and inspections on production machinery and mechanical systems.
Use preventative maintenance to minimise unplanned downtime and improve efficiency.
Conduct essential legislative testing on mechanical equipment and systems.
Work safely and in line with company Health & Safety procedures.
Maintain adequate stock levels of critical spares and components.
Support the Engineering Manager in identifying and implementing process improvements and Continuous Improvement (CIP) initiatives.
Assist with engineering projects and liaise with external contractors when required.
About You:
Completed a relevant apprenticeship or education in mechanical engineering
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
Flexible and willing to work overtime, during shutdowns, and provide call-out cover when needed.
A proactive team player with a focus on performance and reliability.
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for occasional inter-site travel.
