The consultancy employs around 100 professional staff, with a close-knit engineering team of 13, and delivers innovative, technically robust projects across the UK.
This is a full-time, predominantly office-based role offering the opportunity to work closely alongside architects and other built-environment professionals in a collaborative, design-led environment.
The Role The successful candidate will be involved in the structural analysis and design of buildings from concept through to construction across a wide range of sectors.
Day-to-day responsibilities include: Structural analysis and design in steel, concrete, masonry and timber Preparation of structural calculations, specifications and technical reports Site inspections and structural appraisals Working collaboratively with architects, engineers and external consultants Supporting projects from early design stages through to delivery Project Exposure You will gain hands-on experience across a diverse portfolio of technically engaging schemes, including: Multi-million-pound precast concrete university buildings High-rise student accommodation refurbishments and extensions New build retail developments for national retailers Large steel-framed industrial and warehouse schemes Multi-storey care homes in load-bearing masonry Projects are delivered nationwide across Residential, Commercial, Retail, Healthcare, Leisure and Student Accommodation sectors.
Requirements Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering Typically 2 years experience in consulting engineering, although candidates outside this range will be considered Strong understanding of building structures and core structural engineering principles Experience using hand calculations, spreadsheets and structural design software Experience with finite element analysis software such as Tekla Structural Designer Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team Salary & Benefits Salary: £30,000
