A growing organisation within the built environment sector is seeking an experienced Head of Projects to lead a diverse portfolio of project activity. This senior role will develop, guide, and empower high-performing teams to deliver projects safely, efficiently, and to exceptional standardsThe ideal candidate willbine strong operational leadership withmercial acumen, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with business objectives. This is an opportunity to shape long-term project strategy, build client relationships, and drive innovation across the functionReporting into the Group Head of Estates, you’ll be a relationship builder and a business winner. You’lle from a background of winning / working on small projects (you may have been the MD of your own Construction business previously). You’ll split your time during the week between 2 sites (Chester & the Southwest), so you’ll need to be mobile and happy to stay away at times
Role:
1. Lead the end-to-end delivery of the project portfolio, ensuring safety,pliance and quality at every stage
2. Build, coach and develop high-performing teams capable of delivering a wide range of projects
3. Drivemercial performance through strategic planning, forecasting, and strong financial oversight
4. Develop a sustainable pipeline of future project opportunities, including leading bids, proposals and presentations
5. Maintain high standards ofernance, reporting and project controls across all workstreams
Key Responsibilities:
6. Ensure all projects are delivered safely, meeting statutory, technical and quality requirements
7. Recruit, retain and develop talent to support current delivery and future growth
8. Identify, scope and progress new project opportunities
9. Oversee allmercial and contractualmitments associated with project delivery
10. Deliver projects to agreed timelines, budgets and performance measures
11. Lead risk management activity across technical, health & safety, financial and operational domains
12. Build strong working relationships with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders
13. Manage bids, tenders and proposals, ensuring submissions arepetitive andpelling
14. Drive revenue growth and secure new business opportunities
15. Provide senior-level reporting, insights and operational updates
16. Oversee project reviews, ensuringpliance with health & safety and projecternance standards
About You (Experience & Background)
17. Extensive experience deliveringplex projects within construction, engineering, facilities, infrastructure, or related environments.
18. Proven ability to lead project teams and manage senior‑level stakeholders.
19. Strongmercial and financial management capability, including P&L responsibility.
20. Be fully proficient with NEC contracts
21. Experience preparing, presenting and managing bids, tenders and proposals.
22. Track record of identifying and developing new project opportunities

Qualifications (Desired but not essential)
28. Degree or technical qualification in Construction, Engineering, Project Management or similar
29. SMSTS, CSCS and relevant health & safety certifications (, NEBOSH, IOSH)
30. Strong literacy, numeracy and reporting capability
