Senior Electrical Designer Location: Macclesfield, Cheshire (Hybrid – 3 days on site after probation)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £52,000 – £60,000 + benefits
The Opportunity This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Electrical Designer to join a dynamic engineering team operating within the pharmaceutical sector. You’ll support critical infrastructure and facilities projects, working in a safety-first, collaborative environment that encourages technical development and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supporting a busy framework programme, delivering around 40 varied projects each year, all within the pharmaceutical environment.
Managing multiple workstreams, producing:
Technical reports and scopes
Concept and detailed designs
Construction-ready documentation
Producing electrical design drawings for:
LV power distribution
Lighting and emergency lighting
Fire detection and security systems
Electrical O&M models
Working closely with client-side engineers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to a high standard.
Applying your knowledge of regulated facilities and designing solutions suited to pharmaceutical standards.
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience working on pharmaceutical sites (Horus security clearance required).
5+ years’ experience in electrical design, ideally within the pharmaceutical or similarly regulated sector.
HNC, degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering (professional membership beneficial).
Strong technical capability across:
LV distribution
Lighting design
Fire and security systems
Cable routing and containment
Understanding of CDM 2015 and UK construction standards for regulated environments.
Confident communicator, able to collaborate effectively with clients and multidisciplinary teams.
Proficiency in:
AutoCAD LT
Relux / Dialux
Trimble
Navisworks
Revit (advantageous)
