To assist in the provision and delivery of a high-quality radiographic service within Northumbria Health Care Trust whilst adhering to all trust and departmental policies and procedures.
Within the role, staff will be expected to manage a number of service lists, ensuring all patient details are correct. The team contacts patients to arrange diagnostic appointments for all specialties within Radiology, ensuring patients have a clear understanding of the procedure or diagnostic imaging they are attending for. Staff are required to provide all relevant preparation information to patients prior to attending.
Staff will be part of a team managing all incoming and outgoing calls, generic inbox queries, and supporting the service provision diary setup. We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck, and Hexham, plus smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, as well as the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital. We also provide services in people's homes and community facilities, promoting patient independence and avoiding hospital admissions where appropriate.
This post will be based at North Tyneside General Hospital, with travel to Wansbeck General Hospital as needed. It includes evening and weekend shifts on a rotational basis.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic team player with strong administrative skills to join our experienced, proactive, and friendly team serving patients across Northumberland and North Tyneside. The role involves liaising with patients and clinicians to arrange appointments for all specialties, managing service lists, and handling appointment queries.
Essential Criteria
* NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification/experience in a relevant subject/area of work
* Educated to GCSE level, with GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or above in English or equivalent or relevant experience
* Excellent keyboard skills
* Previous experience working in a busy office
* Team worker with good interpersonal skills
