The role
We’re looking for a Lead Pricing Analyst to join our growing team and play a key role in shaping the pricing strategy across our diverse portfolio of Commercial Lines products. This is a hands-on role where you’ll apply advanced analytics and commercial insight to develop pricing models that balance competitiveness, profitability, and customer fairness.
You’ll also support and guide a small team of pricing analysts, collaborating closely with colleagues in Product, Underwriting, Data, and across the wider Admiral Group to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do
1. Deliver Impact: Design, develop, and implement pricing models and strategies across multiple products (, SME, Taxi, Minifleet).
2. Apply Technical Expertise: Use advanced analytical techniques and statistical modelling to generate actionable insights that inform pricing and business decisions.
3. Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Product, Underwriting, and Data teams to ensure pricing outcomes deliver commercial value and positive customer experiences.
4. Support Development: Provide technical and analytical leadership, mentoring analysts to grow their skills and confidence.
5. Champion Improvement: Monitor performance, identify pricing opportunities, and lead test-and-learn initiatives to optimise outcomes.
6. Ensure Compliance and Fairness: Align pricing decisions with FCA requirements, Admiral’s governance standards, and principles of customer value.
7. Communicate Effectively: Present findings, insights, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior stakeholders.
What You Bring
8. Relevant Experience: Demonstrated expertise in pricing or actuarial analysis within UK general insurance (typically + years).
9. Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Python, R, or SAS, with experience working with large datasets using SQL.
10. Clear Communicator: Ability to explain complex analytical concepts in a clear and engaging way for a range of audiences.
11. Collaborative Leadership: A proactive approach to ownership and a commitment to supporting others’ development.
12. Innovative Mindset: Curiosity about emerging trends in insurance and a drive to explore new approaches.
