SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Mainstream Secondary School, Wembley
Type: Ongoing contract
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated mainstream Teaching Assistant who is comfortable working with pupils with SEN in a large school that includes Primary, Secondary, and Sixth Form students. The school has classes of up to 30 pupils, including those with SEN.
The Role
You will work in classes of up to 30 pupils, some of whom will have SEN. Flexibility to move between classrooms is required. You will support pupils with SEN within the classroom, assisting the class teacher with assessment, evidencing learning, and creating stimulating learning environments with appropriate resources and displays. The role is varied, requiring adaptability, resilience in high-pressure environments, and the ability to manage changing priorities.
The primary focus will be working with the secondary school. You will support the class teacher in fostering a positive learning environment and motivating pupils towards high achievement. Excellent teamwork, classroom, and communication skills are essential. Requirements
* GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above
* Strong communication skills and the ability to relate positively to children and adults
