Job Summary
We are looking to recruit a Counselling or Clinical Psychologist to join our Adult CMHT based in Kings Lynn covering West Norfolk. The psychology and psychological therapies team in the CMHT includes Clinical Psychology, CBT therapists, CAT therapists, Art therapists, DBT therapists, and CAPS. The post holder will provide assessment, formulation, individual and group therapy for service users accessing the CMHT. There are responsibilities relating to supervision and service evaluation, with opportunities to support further therapy training to fit service needs.
Main duties of the job include maintaining and managing a caseload of clinical work, covering assessment, consultation formulation, and delivering individual and group therapy for service users. The post holder will be supervised by the 8B Clinical Psychologist and will have supervisory responsibilities for others in the team. Collaboration with the wider MDT is essential, and the post holder will have a job plan in line with BPS guidance incorporating time for CPD and learning as well as clinical duties.

Qualifications
Essential
* Post-graduate degree (or equivalent if trained prior to 1996) in clinical psychology, accredited by BPS
* Registered as a practitioner psychologist with HCPC or due to be accredited within the next 12 months
* Ongoing further specialist training/accredited short courses
* Supervisor training, to be a supervisor of doctoral programme clinical psychology trainees or willing to undertake training
Desirable
* Evidence of CPD in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice
Experience
Essential
* Experience as a qualified clinical psychologist (Band 7) with ability to supervise trainee clinical psychologists
* Experience with a wide range of client groups and clinical problems, maintaining professionalism with distressing situations
Desirable
* Experience representing psychology within an MDT setting
* Clinical work in a setting relevant to the post
Skills & Knowledge
Essential
* Skilled in complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management
* Skills in training and supervision, and in creating and delivering presentations
Desirable
* Further qualification in a recognised psychological therapy
Knowledge – Essential
* Doctor-level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis
* Knowledge of mental health legislation within a specialist clinical context
* Evidence of CPD as recommended by BPS

* Well-developed knowledge of theory and practice of specialised psychological interventions and assessments for specialist clinical service-user groups
