We are looking for a number of General Machinist which will be responsible for the manufacture of aerospace components to join on a 12-month contract. Please note this role is going to be on a rotating shift pattern (mornings, afternoon and nights). As a Machinist, you will be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. You will also work with cross functional teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within our manufacturing environment. As a General Machinist you will be: Operating Machines to produce intermediate & high-pressure turbine blades. Following technical instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent, high-quality machining across a variety of different components and product families. Operating a variety of Inspection equipment, both mechanical and electronic. Interpreting manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications. Assessment of whether the quality of components produced meet required standards. Effective team work to resolve quality issues and ensure work is being completed to plan. Scope to train and work across a variety of machines. Who we are looking for: Completed an advanced modern engineering apprenticeship* and an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification. Experience with aerospace components would be preferable. Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
