We are looking for a Skilled General Machinist which will be responsible for the manufacture of aerospace components to join on a 12-month contract. Please note this role is going to be on a rotating shift pattern (mornings, afternoon and nights). As a Machinist, you will be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements. You will also work with cross functional teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within our manufacturing environment. As a Skilled General Machinist you will be responsible for: Following technical instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent, high-quality machining across a variety of different components and product families. Operating a variety of Inspection equipment, both mechanical and electronic. Interpreting manufacturing drawings, customer drawings and written specifications. Assessment of whether the quality of components produced meet required standards. Effective team work to resolve quality issues and ensure work is being completed to plan. Scope to train and work across a variety of machines Who we are looking for: Applicants must have a time served advanced apprenticeship with a minimum of City & Guilds Level 3, National Vocational Qualification (NVQ)/Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) Level 3 or equivalent. Experience with aerospace components would be preferable. Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection. Pro-active, patient, capable of managing time effectively.
