Teaching Assistant - PACE-Informed Practice
Prospero Teaching are seeking a compassionate and emotionally attuned Teaching Assistant to working at a lovely school in Bournemouth with experience in using the PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) approach to support children who may have experienced trauma, attachment difficulties, or emotional and behavioural needs.
The right person will have experience in trauma-informed or attachment-based approaches (e.g. PACE, Thrive, Nurture)
Key Responsibilities:
* Build trusting relationships with children using the principles of PACE: Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy.
* Provide 1:1 and small group support, helping children regulate emotions and engage in learning.
* Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to create a consistent, nurturing environment.
* Support social, emotional, and communication development through safe, playful interactions.
What we need from you:
* Experience working with children with SEMH or attachment needs
* Confident using the PACE approach
* Emotionally resilient, patient, and empathetic
* A team player with strong communication skills
* A DBS on the Update Service (willingness to obtain one)
