Our client, a growing and ambitious accountancy firm, is currently seeking an Accountant to join their expanding team. This opportunity has arisen due to continued business growth, and the successful candidate will take ownership of a portfolio of clients, ensuring high levels of service delivery while building strong, long-term relationships.
The role will involve providing proactive tax and accounting advice, alongside the preparation and submission of VAT returns and monthly payroll to HMRC. You will also be responsible for producing statutory accounts and corporation tax returns in line with current accounting standards and tax regulations, as well as handling self-assessment tax returns. Acting as a key point of contact, you will liaise with HMRC and other external bodies on behalf of clients. In addition, the position includes supporting the development of junior team members through training and guidance.
Our client is looking for a confident communicator who can engage effectively with both clients and colleagues via telephone and email. The ideal candidate will be well organised, with a structured and methodical approach to their work, and capable of managing tasks of varying complexity. You should be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with the flexibility to adapt to changes, including updates to legislation.
Candidates should have prior experience working within an accountancy environment and be either fully qualified or currently studying towards a recognised accounting qualification. Strong communication skills are essential, along with up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and tax legislation. The ability to work to deadlines, meet targets, and contribute positively to the wider team is also key.
