About the role
Are you a talented content editor looking for a new challenge? Do you have experience administering a CMS and have what it takes to lead a network of content editors in creating an exceptional online experience for residents of the Vale of Glamorgan? Could you be a key figure in a digital change programme that will improve the way vital public services are delivered?
The Vale of Glamorgan Council is looking for someone who can embrace the challenge of managing a portfolio of websites accessed by tens of thousands of users each week, while simultaneously developing their content and functionality in line with our ambitious digital change programme. The successful candidate will also be responsible for the Council's intranet, relied on by more than 3,000 staff.
About you
To deliver in this role you will need first class content skills. Exceptional copywriting skills and a flair for design are essential. You’ll also need to be confident using data to assess how content performs and be able to factor in accessibility and UX into content design.
You will work as a senior member of the Council’s new Strategic Advisory Group that leads the organisations work in communications, participation and equalities. You’ll be a key member of various project teams. You’ll operate as our in-house digital expert and will need exceptional interpersonal skills to enable you to advise colleagues working at all levels of the organisation and harness the capacity of a large network of content editors.
