Our Client is a multi disciplinary Group of Companies based just on the outskirts of Manchester. The role of Category Manager will work across multiple divisions and will report to the Procurement Manager. You will operate as the key point of contact within the Supply Chain Team, ensuring procurement processes are completed efficiently, accurately and on time whilst being in line with regulatory and company standards.
Category Manager – Procurement – Responsibilities:
* Supporting supplier relationships, in the implementation of the category strategy for each service and sector
* Ensuring objectives of the Tender are fully understood, that all documents and relevant specifications needed for any tenders are received in full
* Negotiating with relevant suppliers including the preparation of analysis to support negotiating positions
* Bring all relevant commercial analysis to the supplier selection, negotiation and drafting of contracts to promote value, lower costings and higher service levels to adhere to strict company supply chain policies
* Monitor suppliers, drafting site-specific contracts, ensuring all KPIs reflect operational needs
* Work with your third party procurement businesses to manage and monitor all tender activities
* Acting as the first point of contact for procurement queries, working cross functionally to identify root causes of issues
* Working with the Supply Chain team to address queries clarify issues and maintain strong commercial relationships
* Ensure reporting is in line with category performance
Category Manager – Procurement – Candidate Spec:
* Experience working within a procurement or supply chain function for a minimum of 2 years
* Experience operating across multiple categories
* Technical Understanding of Facilities Management
* Project Management experience – Managing multiple activities simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlines
* Analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to analyse data, identify trends and make data driven decisions
* Experience of negotiating and contract management, reducing costs and improving service partner relationships
