Job Purpose
To provide students with high-quality dance education that nurtures creativity, self-expression, and personal growth. The Dance Teacher will create an inspiring learning environment where students develop confidence, resilience, and a love of the performing arts, contributing positively to the school's wider cultural and creative life.
Main Tasks
* Deliver engaging and inclusive dance lessons that are fun and well-structured.
* Plan and prepare age-appropriate lesson content and choreography.
* Build student confidence through encouragement, support, and a positive teaching style.
* Facilitate an end-of-term showcase to celebrate student progress and achievements.
* Promote creativity, self-expression, teamwork, and discipline through dance.
* Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.
* Monitor and provide constructive feedback on student progress.
* Ensure safe dance practices, including warm-ups, cool-downs, and injury prevention.
* Collaborate with school staff to coordinate lessons, events, and student support.
* Inspire a love of dance by demonstrating passion, professionalism, and enthusiasm
Location
Classes will take place in schools within Worcestershire. They will be booked on a termly basis and hours agreed, in advance, with the appropriate teacher.
Your location will be discussed during the interview process – schools will be allocated depending on your area.
Hours
This role is ideal for an individual who is looking for part time hours roughly between 3pm-4pm, weekdays, in term time. Actual hours offered will depend upon the needs of the business and the availability of the applicant.
During the interview process, preferred days of the week will be discussed and agreed upon.
There will also be potential to teach at Holiday Camps during the Summer & Easter.
Payment
Hourly rate - £22
All relevant training will be provided by Black Box Tuition.
Applicants will need to have a valid DBS, enrolled onto the update service. They will also need to have their own mode of transport.
